Everyone of us may have been told fairy tales since childhood and dreamt of being a prince or princess who lives in a large castle and find a ideal partner to live happlily forever afterward.
In the past, stories was spread mouth to mouth, children have to imagine the images and scenes in the stories by themselves. The stories lived in their mind strongly that way and then when they become parents and grandparents, they retold the stories to their children and grandchildren.
As schools and printing become more popular, stories can be transferred to next generation more easily on the paper. People can read the stories instead of having someone tell them. However the words and pictures illustrated still motionless and sometimes boring, particular in the long stories which last for many many pages, with small letters in many lines lying one by one. So it was such patient people who can concentrate to read and remember all the words and the contents of the stories unless there was a summary.
Other way to bring the fairy life to real life is beautiful doll, both male and female, mostly female. Children can put nice clothes and dresses on them, as well as playing dress up games alone. They can also make a nice stories between dolls if they have other friends with other dolls nearby, but it is difficult to do if their friends are faraway from them.
The introduction of TV and cartoons and dramas brings us new way to see fairy tales, when the producers make up the films and show to the viewers. The contents of the cartoons and dramas is more visual to us thus easier to understand and remember. But the problem is the audience can not be creative in the way they think about the stories.
Internet with flash technology can eventually solve the problems, we have seen a lot of dress up games in many websites, in which players can build dreamy world as they like. Not like films or cartoons which children can only watch but not create or change, flash games are designed in a imaginative way.
